Rev. Adam L Herring, Senior Pastor

Pastor Adam Herring submitted his life to ministry at the age of 17 and has pursued that calling with passion. Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, he has been heavily involved in the ministry of preaching and evangelism. His heart for ministry has allowed him to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ with authenticity and relevance. An effective communicator of God’s word, Pastor Herring is known for his practical and dynamic preaching style which helps people apply the timeless truths of scripture to their everyda lives. Pastor Herring earned his bachelor’s degree from Lee University in Cleveland, TN, and a Master of Divinity Degree from Pentecostal Theological Seminary. He has served Capital City as Senior pastor since 2017. He is an ordained Bishop in the Church of God. Pastor also serves in the U.S Air Force as a Reserve Chaplain. While Capital City’s congregation is beautifully diverse and the challenges of the day are complex, Pastor Herring constantly points to the one place where true hope is found – simply Jesus Christ. Alongside his wife and three daughters, Pastor Adam Herring continues to serve and minister with vision and purpose.

Rev. Brandon Brockmeyer, Administrative Pastor

Pastor Brandon Brockmeyer has served at Capital City Church of God since October, 2018. He has a love for people, a passion for ministry, and a desire to see the local church grow. At the age of 18, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at Harvest Pentecostal Church in Northeast, MD. At the age of 20, he accepted the call to the ministry, and he has had the opportunity to minister in several states. He and his wife, Leah, have been married since 2010 and have been blessed with two sons. Along with his administrative duties, he enjoys the opportunity to reach young people for Jesus.

Mollie Powell, Wednesday Children's Bible Group Leader 

Mollie has served at Capital City Church of God since 2018. She has a love for people, music ministry, and a desire to teach young children the truth of God’s Word. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She has been serving in music ministry for nine years and children's ministry for the past three years. 

Mollie is attending NC State University and studying Elementary Education. Her favorite verse is John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Lauren Swilley, Sunday Kids Church Leader

Lauren has served at Capital City Church of God since 2022. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She has been serving in children's ministry for the past two years. Her mission in children’s ministry is to encourage the “next generation” how to passionately pursue an eternal relationship with Christ while providing a safe environment where children have a balance of fun and structure while learning about the written Word of God. She also enjoys participating in the music ministry and volunteering in the community.

Lauren graduated from William Peace University, earning a bachelors degree in Psychology and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. Her favorite verse is Romans 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
